Week Ten RPI
As the season enters Week 10, the Conference Power Rankings have stabilized. Still on top, the SEC (average team ranking of 22.0) is a paradigm of consistency. The conference is likely a 10-bid league, and it wouldn't be surprising for an 11th team to make it in. The biggest challenge for SEC teams will be ensuring that their conference records don't slip below .500.
The #2 Big XII (44.9) continues to search for their front runner. West Virginia, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State all won their series this weekend and stand atop the RPI rankings for the conference. Continuing the trend of parity, all nine Big XII teams are ranked in the top 100 in the RPI.
Behind the Big XII, the Pac-12 (61.3) and ACC (62.2) come in at #3 and #4. The Pac-12 boasts three top-10 RPI teams in UCLA, Oregon State, and Stanford, and as of now, it's likely all these teams will host Regionals. The ACC has several teams that are hoping to host as well in Louisville, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, and possibly Miami. Both the Pac-12 and ACC are weighed down by outliers at the bottom of the conference.
Coming in at #5, the American is hoping to send three or four teams to a Regional. With only a few weekends left in the college baseball season, teams like Houston, UCF, and Tulane still have work to do to clinch their Regional spot.
